Implementation of the clinical practice guidelines for the management of melanoma
Aim:
To encourage uptake of the recommendations from the new Clinical practice guidelines for the Management of Melanoma in Australia and New Zealand in NSW and the ACT.
Methods:
- Develop an evidence-based implementation plan
- Analyse a subset of the MPOC data which will identify gaps in the care of melanoma patients
- Develop tools to assist implementation e.g. clinical protocols, decision aids, referral pathways, incentives
Status:
A detailed implementation plan has been developed by the Network.
A report on the gaps in care of melanoma patients (Implementation Report) using preliminary results obtained from the MPOC study has been undertaken. A copy of this report will be available on this website in the near future.
A suite of four 2 - 3 minute videos is under development by the Network in collaboration with MIA to address the gaps in care identified in the Implementation report. The videos will be available on this webpage in September 2011.
