The Management Committee of the Network is responsible for:
- major decisions about the Network's mission, objectives and strategic plans.
- monitoring progress towards objectives
- monitoring the Network’s finances
The Committee meets four times per year.

Professor John Thompson (Chair)
Professor John Thompson, MBBS, BSc(Med), MD, FRACS, FACS is the Executive Director of the Sydney Melanoma Unit and Professor of Melanoma and Surgical Oncology of the University of Sydney. He is author of over 400 peer-reviewed articles and holds positions on the editorial boards of several international journals. He is the immediate past President of the International Sentinel Node Society, Chairman of the Australian and New Zealand Melanoma Trials Group, and Chairman of the NSW Melanoma Network. He is also a member of the Melanoma Staging Committee of the American Joint Committee on Cancer. |

Professor Bruce Armstrong
Bruce Armstrong is internationally recognised for his research into the causes and prevention of skin cancer and melanoma and has made important contributions to knowledge on the causes and control of other cancers. His present research covers genetic and environmental causes of cancer and the quality and performance of cancer services. Bruce received the award for a lifetime of achievement in basic research into melanoma at the 6th World Congress on Melanoma in Vancouver in 2005 and the inaugural New South Wales Premier’s award for Outstanding Cancer Researcher of the Year in 2006. He was elected an Honorary Member of the International Association of Cancer Registries in 2008. He is a Professor of Public Health at The University of Sydney. |

Professor Rick Kefford Professor Richard Kefford MB BS PhD FRACP holds the Chair in Medicine at the University of Sydney, Westmead Hospital. He is Director of the Westmead Institute for Cancer Research and Chair of the Division of Medicine at Westmead Hospital. He is Clinical Research Director of the Melanoma Institute of Australia, incorporating Sydney Melanoma Unit, the world's largest melanoma treatment centre. He is Deputy Director of the Westmead Millennium Institute and Consultant Medical Oncologist to the NSW Breast Cancer Institute. He founded the Department of Medical Oncology at Westmead Hospital (1986), the Familial Cancer Service at Westmead (1992) and the Westmead Institute for Cancer Research (1996). He continues NHMRC and CINSW Program Grant research into the molecular biology of melanoma. He is a Member of the International Melanoma Working Group, GenoMel (the Melanoma Genetics Consortium), the Management Committee of the NSW Melanoma Network, ASCO, ESMO and AACR. He is a member of the NHMRC Academy and Chaired the NHMRC Research Project Grants Committee for six years to 2006 and was a Member of the NHMRC Research Committee during this time. He is a Member of the Executive Advisory Committee of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre, the Melanoma Guidelines Committee of the Australian Cancer Network and the Ethics Committee of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia. He has been Principal or Chief Investigator on over 30 Clinical Trials in melanoma. He is author of over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and has served as consultant to a number of interstate and international cancer organisations and biotechnology companies.
