Patient support services & information
Aim:
Stage 1
- Conduct a review of existing information and support services for melanoma patients.
Stage 2
- Review the quality of patient information and develop new information brochures if required
- Develop a strategy to facilitate access to existing support services and advocate for the establishment of additional services if appropriate.
Methods:
Stage 1
- Review the internet and scientific information for details on existing patient information leaflets/booklets/electronic files
- Interview a sample of patients and doctors to identify key sources of patient information and support services
- Contact cancer centres, cancer organisations, pharmaceutical companies, patient groups to ascertain current information and support services.
Status: Review of existing information and support services for melanoma patients is underway
